Sake Open House (10th of July 2012)

Dear Sake friends,

It’s all starting because of it. I have said to myself many time to start a blog on sake, but always got caught in the daily routine of busy schedule and hectic agendas. In few days we will have the 1st ‘Sake Open House’ tasting and I could not wait any longer to have the blog up on its feet.

The objective here is to share thoughts and for me to write mine, to avoid they could get lost in busy drawers - to chat with sake aficionado and maybe one day to start meeting most of them in restaurants around town and chat over a glass of sake and good food.

My passion for sake started around 6 years ago when working in London and since then it has been part of my daily work and enjoyment. I really appreciate the unique flavours that sake can offer, its versatility on service temperature and food pairing - and surely intrigued by the Japanese abilities on design packaging.
Now, going back to the reason for this blog to start, the Sake Open House tasting will be a trade event where we will showcase all the sake in our portfolio and in addition we will display over 50 samples of new products that could potentially be part of future additions. We hope that this will be an interactive way of navigating the portfolio of products but mostly to encourage the community of sake "appreciators" to come out and mingle over a glass of sake.
Two Breweries will join the tasting; Shushinkan and Kozaemon - both will represent the authenticity of Japanese sake and be able answer many questions on the topic. It will be a good and interesting session!
I will try to add few notes and pictures live - and keep everyone in the loop.

Bye for now!

Giorgio
